| During Tournament Several of the sites require “all white” attire, including collared shirts. This includes shoes, socks, tennis shorts, shirts and hats. All players and coaches should come prepared, as no one will be allowed to play or practice without the proper attire. No obtrusive advertising or offensive graphics are permitted, nor are swimming or soccer shorts. Collared shirts are required for the semifinals and finals of all singles and doubles events. See attire. All players appearing on the National Tournament Alternates List are automatically placed on the list of Onsite Alternates, whether or not they are actually on site. If you are on the National Tournament Alternate List and you are coming to Washington, D.C. in hopes of getting into the tournament, we strongly suggest that you participate in the tournament registration process so we know you are on site. It is suggested that a car be rented during your stay at our tournament. There will be free shuttle service to and from both match and practice sites for players staying at the DoubleTree Hotel ONLY. Players losing in any singles round through the quarterfinals will be entered in the Feed-In Championship (FIC). Play in the FIC is mandatory, as is play in the playoff for 3rd and 4th place. The winner and runner-up in the FIC are the winners of 5th and 6th place in the tournament. F.I.C. TO BEGIN ON TUESDAY, JULY 18, 2006. All matches will be the best of three (3) tiebreak sets. The USTA Point Penalty System is in effect. It is recommended that players check in at the Tournament Desk 30-minutes prior to their scheduled match time. | CONDUCT DURING THE TOURNAMENT | While you are playing in the tournament, your conduct both on and off the court is under the supervision of the tournament. We expect your conduct and decorum to reflect the quality of your tennis ability -- the best. Drinking, gambling, and taking illegal substances are not permitted nor will disorderly or inconsiderate conduct on or off site be tolerated. Damage to a room or taking property from the hotel is forbidden. You will be expected to pay for any damage or theft to hotel property (towels & etc.). Your failure to comply with the above rules may result in disciplinary action by both this tournament and your sectional association. Random drug testing may take place at these Championships. | SEMIFINAL AND FINAL ROUND PLAY AND AWARDS | The Semi-final, singles and doubles final, the 3rd / 4th playoff and the FIC quarter-finals thru finals, will be played on Saturday and Sunday, July 22 and 23, 2005 at the Woodmont Country Club. The USTA will award gold, silver, and bronze tennis balls to the first, second, and third place finishers in singles, and gold and silver balls to the finalists in the doubles. The National Boys' 16 will present trophies for 4th, 5th, and 6th place in singles and 3rd and 4th place in doubles. There will also be four sportsmanship awards, the two USTA Sportsmanship Awards, the Sam O. English, Jr. Sportsmanship Award for the Boys' 18's and the Dwight A. Mosley Sportsmanship Award for the Boys' 16's. At Registration, each participant will be invited to nominate one or more players for the Tournament Committee to consider for the sportsmanship awards. There will be four sportsmanship awards -- the two USTA Sportsmanship Awards, the Sam O. English, Jr. Sportsmanship Award for the Boys' 18's, and the Dwight A. Mosley Sportsmanship Award for the Boys' 16's. You have been involved in tournaments with these players all year and are in a good position to bring to our attention those players worthy of consideration for these awards. |
