It is the player’s responsibility to make arrangements for transportation from and to the airport. The host family will pick you up after the Mandatory Meeting on Saturday, July 15th, at the DoubleTree Hotel.

 TOURNAMENT ATTIRE

Several of the sites require “all white” attire, including collared shirts. This includes shoes, socks, tennis shorts, shirts and hats. All players and coaches should come prepared, as no one will be allowed to play or practice without the proper attire.

No obtrusive advertising or offensive graphics are permitted, nor are swimming or soccer shorts.

Collared shirts are required for the semifinals and finals of all singles and doubles events.

See attire.

 SINGLES ACCEPTANCE

The selection of singles players in the Nationals is being done by computer immediately after the entries close on June 22nd - the tournament has no discretion as to which players are accepted. On or after June 26th, you may go to the tournament's website at www.ustaclay.com, or www.usta.com to view the list of players that have been accepted into the Singles Draw.

As you probably know by now, the Tournament Committee receives far more entries that it can accept. Because of this fact, you should NOT ASSUME that you are in the Tournament. Please review the following USTA Regulation regulations that governs this Championship. If you have a question about whether or not you are within your Section's quota, you should contact your Sectional Endorser.

This Championship has no control over the Sectional Endorser's numerical ordering of the players on his/her list. Any dispute in this regard must be resolved within your section.

 TOURNAMENT ALTERNATES

If, prior to the draw on Sunday July 9th, an endorsed player withdraws and it lowers the number of players from his section below quota, his replacement is the next player on the sectional endorsement list of alternates. If a player withdraws who is not endorsed sectionally, he is replaced with the highest listed remaining player on the National Tournament Alternate List.

If, after the draw has been made a player withdraws, his replacement will come from the National Tournament Alternate list.

After June 26th, please click here to view the Boys’ 18 alternates

After June 26th, please click here to view the Boys’ 16 alternates

The tournament will notify the alternate if he becomes eligible due to an entrant's withdrawal. If you are an alternate and are not going to be home during the week prior to the tournament, please e-mail Jeffrey Szekely a contact phone number where you can be reached.

 NATIONAL TOURNAMENT ALTERNATE LIST

The National Tournament Alternate List is the numerical list of approximately 15 players that will be alternates into the draw once the draw has taken place. The order in which players are listed is determined using the USTA's most recently published Seeding / Selection List, the Sectional Endorser Lists, and other available data.

This year, the draw will be done on Sunday, July 9, 2006 and the National Tournament Alternate List will go into effect at that time. Beginning on Friday, July 14th, the ational Tournament Alternate List will be posted at the DoubleTree Hotel, on this website, and on usta.com. As withdrawals occur, the National Tournament Alternate List will be revised on the Internet and at the DoubleTree Hotel.

It is the player's responsibility after checking the website to see if they have been accepted into the draw, to contact the Tournament Director. Players on the National Tournament Alternate List will be accepted into the draw as withdrawals or defaults occur until all entrants have played their first singles match at the completion of the first round of play on Sunday, July 16th and Monday, July 17th.

 TOURNAMENT WITHDRAWALS

It is your responsibility, to immediately take action, to withdraw from the tournament should circumstances arise which would not enable you to compete. We also ask that you cancel any hotel reservations you made.

Withdraws Prior to June 22nd Entry Deadline: Go to www.usta.com and follow the instructions to withdraw from the tournament. Because your credit card will not be charged prior to the entry deadline, no refund needs to be made.

Withdraws After Entry Deadline and Before Draw is made on Sunday, July 9th: Contact Jeff Szekely at (301) 309-2022. You will be refunded all but $10.00 of your entry fee unless a medical excuse or verification of emergency is provided.

Withdrawals After the Draw is Made on July 9th: No refund will be given.

 CHECK-IN PROCEDURE

Tournament Check-In will be at the DoubleTree Hotel on Saturday, July 15th - Boys’ 18 – 1:15 pm – 3:00 pm and Boys’ 16 – 3:15 pm – 5:00 pm. If you are a Doubles entrant, the deadline is extended until 6:30 pm.

 DOUBLES APPLICATION AND ACCEPTANCE

Players who are in the Singles Draw as well as any player who has been endorsed by their Sectional Endorser to play singles may also apply to enter doubles. Additionally, the first and second place finishers in the doubles championships at the National Opens in May, 2006 automatically receive a berth, whether or not they play with the partner with whom they won the May National Open. ON SITE SECTIONALLY-ENDORSED ALTERNATES NOT ACCEPTED into the SINGLES DRAW will also be allowed to enter the doubles draw if it is not full.

Although the online registration process allows you to register for Doubles, The Nationals will not finalize any Applications for the Doubles Championships until On Site Registration Day, July 15th. These finalized applications for the Doubles Championships will be taken only on July 15th from 1:00p.m. - 6:30p.m. Both partners must submit the application for entry together at the Registration Desk.

At 6:00 p.m. on Registration Day, a "Players Without Partners" Meeting will be held to match any players who do not have partners. The tournament is not responsible for matching a player with a partner.

Doubles entries close at 6:30pm on Saturday, July 15th.

Doubles Play will begin on Sunday, July 16th. No doubles play will be held on Tuesday, July 18th.

 MANDATORY PLAYER MEETING

On Sunday, you will need to be available on-site if anyone is unable to play. Alternates must sign-in on Sunday morning prior to matches for which they wish to be alternates.

Alternates for the Boys' 18 Singles will sign in at the tournament desk at Woodmont Country Club. Alternates for the Boys' 16 Singles will sign-in at the tournament desk at Indian Spring Country Club.
